Unlike the name suggests, there is no such thing as a kind apology associated with this game!
We have had Sorry! as long as I can remember, and although the original board has long been replaced, the updated version is just as good. In a frenzy to march all your tokens around the board into their home, cards are turned up to reveal the amount of spaces you can move, or the opportunity to make your opponent feel “sorry” by sending one of their tokens back to the start. Of course, your opponent turns cards over too, and so you may be “sorry” yourself more than once during the game. The game terminates with the winner triumphantly bringing his last token home.
Though it’s mostly a game of luck with no great strategy, it’s tremendously fun. Young children will have plenty of opportunity to practice counting skills…who knew math could be so fun?! -By Gracine McFie
