Crazy Cake

Crazy Cake is an easy cake for a beginner to make…and it fun to make for non-beginner’s too! One reason is because you add the ingredients in ANY order you like (!), stir and bake.

While the cake is in the oven, you’ll make the topping and then spread it over the top of the cake when it’s finished baking, set under the broiler for just a few minutes to toast a bit and that’s it!

Crazy Cake Recipe:   

  • 1½  cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup cocoa of carob powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 6 tablespoons oil
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 cup water

Combine all ingredients and pour into a 9X9 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes


  • ¼ cup butter, melted
  • ½ – ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cream
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • chopped pecans, optional

Spread over cake and place under broiler until browned, watch carefully because you don’t want to make fire cake like I once 😐
