Pork Steaks

These Grilled Pork Steaks have amazing smoked flavor and the sweet spiciness of the seasoning combination is a winner. This recipe is a "company best"!

Ingredients
  

  • 4-5 pork steaks, cut to 1½" thick
  • 4 tsp black peppercorns
  • 3 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar

Equipment

  • smoker BBQ

Method
 

  1. Grind peppercorns, salt, garlic powder, red pepper flakes and dark brown sugar together using either a mortar and pestle or blender. (A blender is our favorite!)
  2. Rub seasonings into both sides of steaks and transfer to a BBQ smoker grill set on "smoke".
  3. Smoke steaks for 1½ hours. Flip steaks over, turn heat up to 425°F and grill for another 15 minutes or until internal temperature of steaks reaches 145°F.

Notes

To make the pork steaks, I buy a pork loin and cut it into 1" to 1½" thick steaks.
