Black Bean Brownies

A fun recipe for chocolate brownies with a shocking, surprise ingredient!

Ingredients
  

  • 15 oz can of black beans drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips divided
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 9x9 pan with parchment paper. 
  2. In a blender add black beans and 1/4 cup chocolate chips. Blend until smooth.
  3. Add remaining ingredients and blend together, scraping down the sides as necessary.
  4. Pour batter into prepared pan, sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup of chocolate chips and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. 
  5. Cut into squares and sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.
